I've always been drawn to the beauty of nature and curious about all its wonders. My fascination with our ever-changing environment has really fueled my love for ecology, especially prairie ecosystems. As an artist who likes to explore different mediums, I love using natural materials that the Earth provides—like vibrant tree leaves, colorful flowers, plant matter, beeswax, and even metal and paint—in my creations.
The bright colors found in a single flower petal or the little creatures hiding among the stems constantly inspire me. I find myself spending hours in my garden, nurturing a habitat I’ve helped create alongside the tiny creatures that live there. I gather pigments from petals and stems, always making sure to leave enough for the pollinators. I also cut and press flowers to keep their beauty alive for longer than just a season.
I'm passionate about restoring the environment and recognizing how human actions shape our surroundings. Climate change and its effects are always on my mind. Through my artwork, I hope to encourage others to appreciate the beauty around them, pay attention to the little details, and stay curious about the world.
